Elaine Bonavia (b. 1991, Malta) is an experimental architect and artist working with digital drawing and spatial perception. In her multidisciplinary practice, she mainly works with body movement, textiles and spatial drawing in XR, articulating modes of relation with objects and spaces. Her drawings are hybrid artefacts created within everyday environments : emerging as layered events, unfolding presence and texture in space. Her practice is also informed by design research projects and teaching within different design schools across Textile Design and Architecture.

Her work has been exhibited across Europe, including the super contemporary Arts festival Dragoner 3.0 in Berlin. She is currently pursuing a practice-based PhD on SPATIAL DRAWING: Thinking with Materials through Movement at the Programm Entwurfsbasierte Promotion at TU Berlin. Previously, she researched, designed and produced work for the Excellence Cluster – Matters of Activity, Image | Space | Material and Studio Tomas Saraceno in Berlin, Germany.
