In the process of archiving and making sense of the EXPANDED GLITCH project experience, the work L I M B S  ( 2 0 2 5 ) was created, archiving body memory and key elements from the project. LIMBS is a work where diffraction, material memory and spatial sensing become entwined. Composed of gestures suspended between craft and technology, a 3D interpretation of the digital image comes into being.  LIMBS archives the resonance experienced from a concentrated and compelling process of making: negotiating, sensing diffracting and translating with a myriad of hi-tech digital and analog media, and a dedicated team of practitioners intending to push the limits of their craft.

The composition is an archive of the process of constantly seeing double* between craft and spatial technologies. With a direct reference to human limbs and those of the expanded glitch sculpture, particular views were selected through a practice of zooming in, out and around the 3D model of the sculpture on a tablet. The focus on limbs echoes an extended awareness and memory of ‘parts’ floating in the VR model during the design process. The work can be seen as both a drawing and a textile artwork that harbours layers of contact and relation with different media and material. Different types of texture transport themselves across media: each layer within LIMBS (presented as a separate drawing in the visual essay) represents moments of interfacing and achieving relation throughout milestones of the project process.
